Sope Creek Engagement Session - Alaina + Jeff

My love affair with Sope Creek continued with an engagement session for my best friend, Alaina, and her husband, Jeff. Although they're already married, we decided to do a belated engagement session to capture their love because they didn't get a chance to take photos before their courthouse wedding.

Exploring Sope Creek

We headed out to Sope Creek on an early Saturday morning, and it was pretty quiet as it usually has been whenever I've visited the trail. The sun was just starting to make its way over the treetops as we started our session, and the light couldn't have been more beautiful.

We did a bit of hiking and found our way over to the sparkling water and the jutting rocks. During our photos by the water Mother Nature quickly reminded us to always be alert when taking in her beauty. We spotted a water snake that literally slithered right under the rocks we were standing on. Needless to say we hightailed it back to dry land and kept a much more watchful eye after that! Luckily I had gotten all the photos I needed already, so his guest appearance didn't ruin the session.

I of course enjoyed spending a few hours with my best friend (because she now across the country from me), but more than that I loved having the opportunity to experience the connection between she and her husband and witness their love for one another up close.

Love is magic, and anytime I get to be a part of that magic I'm deeply appreciative.
