My Week In Hawaii

Last month I got the chance to cross off one of my long-time vacay wish list spots. I visited Hawaii for a friend's 30th birthday, and it was every bit of beautiful as I expected.

Fun fact: October is the beginning of Hawaii's rainy season, so there were these random light sprinklings/mists of rain throughout the day that would just come and go. But the weather in Hawaii is pretty much beautiful year-round, so everything is very open and airy.

The birds are very friendly (meaning they walk around restaurants freely, hoping people will drop food for them to snatch up... and even sometimes landing on people's plates if they're left unattended for too long) and we even spotted a few sea turtles hanging around at the beach.

I took my DSLR camera along, BUT my battery was on it's last leg AND I brought along the wrong battery charger (rookie mistake, honestly). I really wanted to take a few portraits while I was there, so I reserved my battery for that and instead used my iPhone to document my trip.

While we were there we toured a pineapple farm and go to to taste THE most delicious pineapple everrrr. Trust me when I say this: the pineapple they eat there on the island is completely different from what we eat here.

We took in beautiful landscapes with luscious palm trees and endless waters.

We sat on the beach and soaked up sun rays during the day, then watched the beautiful sunset and took silhouette shots at night.

We walked around town and saw the largest banyan tree in Hawaii, which was absolutely majestic.

I even found a picteresque few spots around our hotel to snap a few shots and portraits.
